Thank you for visiting my blog, Trophic Cascades in the Pacific NW!
I am a conservation biology student at the University of Washington, and the reasons for this blog are twofold:
1) It is part of a final project in the current conservation biology class I am taking, and
2) It is meant to act as an educational tool for any interested readers living in the Pacific Northwest, in the hopes that it will provide them with a better understanding of what a trophic cascade is, how a cascade may come about, and the ways we as people may affect it.
In no way am I an expert in the field of conservation, or in trophic cascades specifically. I do not know everything there is to know about these topics, but they are of great interest to me. If I am to join the ranks of scientists conducting field research (fingers crossed), I would like to do so in the conservation field. This blog is my attempt to share my interests with all of you.
Again, thank you for visiting. I hope that what you find here piques your interest in the biological goings-on in our beautiful part of the world here, the PNW.
